What SELVU is designed to do
SELVU is designed for on-device processing: face tracking and retouching are built to run on your phone. Photos and videos you edit are not intended to be uploaded to our servers as part of retouching.
Third-party components
SELVU uses Google's MediaPipe Tasks for on-device face tracking. Per Google's privacy notice, MediaPipe processes your photos and videos on the device and does not send that content to Google's servers; it does, however, send performance and usage metrics about the API to Google. We will document this precisely in the full policy before launch.
What we don't want to build
Selling face data, mining your media for advertising, or holding your content in the cloud without a reason you chose — none of these are part of the product design.
